HM Dent Works Academy

Meet Jeramey & Julia Henson
Jeramey wanted to be a firefighter, but somehow ended up in the PDR industry. Now, with over 25 years of experience, he is the best of the best. After his daughter was born, Jeramey knew it was time to step up and invest in something that would give his family a future. Dinner with a friend of a friend presented an opportunity to train at a PDR school in Denver. So he did.
It wasn’t easy at first. In fact, he almost quit twice. Everything was stressful and new. A new baby, new skills, new people. He recalls what a humbling experience it was because he had no idea what was involved. But he persevered and found he was progressing every day. Then one day, something clicked. From there, he knew it was going to get easier.
After some time in the business, Jeramey came to realize that this was more than a job, it’s a lifestyle. You have to prepare for it or it can take over. He learned the hardships of having a relationship with someone while traveling all over the world. It’s also difficult to stay financially stable if you’re not responsible for your money year-round. He also learned the hard way that you need to surround yourself with like-minded people.
Paintless Dent Repair is a trade and skill...only those who have committed to perfecting their trade are the best. Henson is personable, fun to work with, and above all, a true professional. He wants to help other like-minded people to gain a clear path and plan a bigger picture for themselves.
Julia started her career in real estate, holding both a bachelor's and a master's degree. On paper, she did everything right. In practice, she learned that two degrees and the debt that came with them didn't guarantee the life she wanted. College was a waste of money for her, and that's a big part of why she believes in the trades. A four-year degree isn't the only path to a good living, and for a lot of people it isn't the best one.
When you marry a PDR tech, you marry the trade too. While Jeramey chased storms across the country, Julia held down the home front and saw firsthand what this lifestyle asks of a family: the long stretches apart, the unpredictable schedule, and the pressure of never quite knowing where the next job will be. Storm season comes and goes, but the bills don't. Someone has to plan for the slow months and make sure the money from a big season still covers the lean ones. For the Henson family, that someone was Julia.
Jeramey always dreamed of owning his own dent shop and teaching the trade. So together, they built both at once, launching HM Dent Works in Springfield alongside the Academy. Julia runs the side of the business most techs never learn: estimating and supplements, payroll, HR, vendor relationships, customer communications, and business development. She knows what it takes to turn a skill into a company that lasts.
That's why the Academy teaches more than technique. Jeramey shows students how to fix the dent. Julia shows them how to build a life around it: budgeting a year of storm income, running the business side, and protecting their relationships while they're on the road.
Skill gets you into this industry. Structure keeps you in it. Julia is organized, straight-talking, and invested in every student who walks through the door. She wants each graduate to leave with more than a trade. She wants them to leave with a plan they can actually live with.
